Music Now Magazine

Indie Rocker Nick Consone is set to release an acoustic album of some of his already released material, plus a few new unknown tracks. Music Now's Janet Wattuca sat down with him to discuss this upcoming release.

I walked in the room, to see a squirmy boy, fussing over his watch. He was wearing simple jeans and T shirt. He greeted me right away with a big smile, and I immediately felt comfortable with him.....

Janet Watucca : Good afternoon Nick. Thanks for taking time to sit down with us.

Nick Consone: No Problem, thank you for being interested.

JT: So, tell me, how is everything going with you.

NC: Everything is going great. Im finally getting some momentum back, and started building up
a band, and we have really cranked a few good shows out already.

JT: Well thats does sound great. Your band, The BluesDrivers, is a far departure from what we
have heard on your demo of "Long Overdue" why is that?

NC: You're right it is different, and that's why it works. I was the sentimental kid with the
guitar for awhile, and while that worked out great, and don't get me wrong, Im not
leaving that in any means, The BluesDrivers is just my space to let loose and play
That 30 minute guitar solo that u just can't get off an acoustic.

JT: Yes, I understand what you mean, you certainly look like you enjoy it.

NC: I most certainly do (laughs)

JT: Now what is this we hear about you releasing an all acoustic album.

NC: Yeeeaah, well, I've been touring for about a year on the coat tails off Long Overdue
and countless cover songs, and thought it time to get serious (chuckles). Long Overdue
I am very happy with, It represents alot of hard work and commitment, but I don't feel like
It says everything that I want it to say. I spent so much time working the rest of the band
in the recordings, that I lost sight of the song, and find that it gets lost a bit. the acoustic
album is just my way of showing you guys the song in its most raw form. Plus, with my trip to
SXSW in the works its to my benefit to have a simple short tracked demo, where every track
represents my best work. It will have bass, and some other elements in there, but nothing
you've heard on Long Overdue.

JT: well that certainly sounds like a great plan. When can we expect this album?

NC: I hope to have it released within the month, and as usual it will be available on my website
for free download.

JT Fantastic! Well thank you Nick for this interview, and we certainly hope to hear from you
soon!

NC: You're very welcome. I hope so too.
